Each opportunity to engage with students today must to be met with contempory solutions at par with the user interfaces (UI) students have grown accustom. Watching the video featuring Evan Lang of Identity Mine you see how his company chose to design their Air Hockey game specifically for Intel's All In One (AIO) platform.
During the second weeks of IUEE in Portland, Oregon we got a chance to go through "app academy". In this 2 week session we got to get exposed to many new programing languages as well as different functional for them. We were arranged in groups prompted to create a game using the new coding skills we had acquired during the sessions.
Intel® Accelerate Your Code Summer 2013
In this contest we were given the sample source code, on which we could base our solution. This sample code had a number of issues:
1. The program is not fast enough
2. Only pixel-exact pattern transformations are found
3. The program is not taking advantage of parallelism
Compiling a file containing the line "extern void _text;" now results in an error with the Intel® C++ Compiler XE 13.1 (part of Intel® C++ Composer XE 2013 update 2 and above):
test.c(1): error: incomplete type is not allowed
extern void _text ;
- Intel(R) C++ Composer XE 2013 SP1 for Linux*
- Intel(R) Fortran Composer XE 2013 SP1 for Linux
- Intel(R) Cluster Studio XE 2013 SP1
If you use
-mkl=cluster on your compilation line, but do not have the environment for Intel® Cluster Studio XE 2013 SP1 setup and installed, you will get linker errors like so:
Reference number: DPD200325435
- Intel® C++ Composer XE 2013 SP1 for Windows* or Linux*
- Intel® C++ Composer XE 2013 for Windows* or Linux*
When compiling recent versions of the Boost library headers, the Intel® C++ Compiler XE 14.0 (part of Intel® C++ Composer XE 2013 SP1) may emit a compiler error like the following:
Problem: Intel C++ Composer XE is not integrated in Microsoft Visual Studio* 2010 or 2012. You can select the Intel Compiler via the project property "Platform Toolset" and build the project, but IDE-related menu items are not available.
Root Cause: One of the possible reasons of such an issue is that the system date/time on your computer is incorrect.The timestamp is used for registration of the IDE modules.
