A study to be published in March by Social Science Quarterly postulated that an unpopular name leads to a much higher possibility of turning into a criminal. What an incredibly interesting thought, and of course with all the unusual names, such as Moon Unit Zappa and more, it certainly does give one cause to ponder,
Time magazine published an article discussing the possibility that your name can affect your popularity and includes many interesting points and links. It’s a good read.
I would like to add a little food for thought to this line of thinking… if you name your child something such as Steve (Jobs, Wozniack) or Bill (Gates), does that give them the an additional boost for increased success in the computer industry? If it does, what names do you think would have the most chances for success?
