  • About Intel Cilk™ Plus and How To Get Started

Intel® Cilk™ Plus is a new method for implementing SIMD (SSEs) vectorization and parallel programs. It is provided by the Intel Parallel Composer 2011 product and the Intel C++ Composer XE (previously called Intel C++ Compiler Professional Edition) for Windows and Linux*.

When adding parallelism to the application for better performance or scaling, do not forget the hardware level data parallelism - vectorization. Ideally it should benefit most if using it with multi-threading technology like the Intel Cilk plus keywords below.

  • Floating-point Settings in Worker Threads May Differ from Master Thread for OpenMP, TBB and Intel Cilk Plus

Worker threads created by OpenMP, Intel Cilk Plus or Intel Threading Building Blocks may have different initial floating-point environments compared to the master thread that spawned them. This can lead to slight differences in floating-point results.

  • Build the Visual C++ 2010 project with "msbuild" and Intel C++ compiler from command line

The Intel® C++ Composer XE for Windows 12.0 and the Intel® Parallel Composer 2011 support "msbuild" for Visual C++ 2010* projects.

The usage and arguments of "msbuild" can be found at Microsoft* website - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms164311.aspx. Do an online search with "MSBuild Command Line" in case the page moved.

  • Intel® MKL Data Fitting component: Overview

Data Fitting functions in Intel® MKL provide spline-based interpolation capabilities that can be used for spline construction (Linear, Cubic Quadratic etc.), to approximate functions, function derivatives or integrals, and perform cell search operations.

The chart below shows the performance advantages of Intel® MKL Data Fitting functions over corresponding functions in GNU Scientific Library* (GSL*) for spline interpolation operations.

  • Redistributable libraries for the Intel Parallel Composer 2011

    Overview

This article contains links to the redistributable library packages and merge module for the Intel Parallel Composer 2011.

The redistributable library packages are for the end users who use applications that are built with Intel Parallel Composer 2011. Please note that there is one redistributable package for every update.

The redistributable merge module (.msm) is intended to be used by the application installation engineers to merge the redistributable into the application's installation.
