What are Accelerate contests ?

Acceler8 contests are parallel programming code contests which are opened  to every students in EMEA &  Russia.  We deliver a code problem on a website, and students have 1 month to solve it. The fastest and best documented solution is the winning one. Easy as that.

Why do Intel is interested in this kind of software contest ?

As Intel, we want to help our developpers to embrace this programming model that is already everywhere. Today, multi-core platforms are in servers, PC, tablets.. and it is coming in phones.
We want our developpers to be ready to develop the best applications in term of performance, and user experience, and we think parallel programming will be a part of the answer.

Do I have to use Intel tools to participate ?

No. You develop with the tools you want. You can use the compilers you want. We will not force you to use Intel tools, this will be your choice. However, we will give you free access to these tools in order to let you try them for the contest, and YOU will decide to use it or not.

As a teacher, can i make my all class participate ?

Yes, absolutely.  As a teacher you will have special tools, as weekly reports of your students work, local prizes for your class, open source PDF parallel programming class etc. If you ask for it, we can dedicate one of our server remotely  for a short period of time ( ie : an afternoon) , in order to allow you to make your class work at the same time  on the contest.

Who organizes the contest ?

The Intel Academic Community, The Intel Software Network &  Intel Staffing.

How Intel staffing is involved ?

Intel staffing is always interested in getting new talents inside the company, so they will work closely with us on the contest in order to propose opportunities ( internships, jobs) to the contest participants.

A webpage will be dedicated to the opportunities we offer, and how to apply to it.
