When rotating the Motion C5 or F5 90 degrees so that it can be used in portrait orientation, the camera feed is not rotated.
This prevents us from being able to capture video or photos in portrait mode.
The easiest way to see the problem is to rotate the screen and then press the camera button.
Ideally, the camera feed should be rotated to match the tablet's orientation.
Has anyone found a solution or have a workaround for this?

This is one of those design decisions we debated and made early on in the MCA development. The decision to not support different screen orientations was made because of the way camera runs over Citrix. Citrix doesnt send orientation information. Supporting Citrix was a key requirement for many of our customers, so we made the decision to keep the orientation in landscape only.
It will be interesting tosee if other MCA developers on the forumhave come up with their own solution or workaround.

Our engineers spent some time on this, but as of now we do not have any quick fix ready. We are considering adding this feature to the MCA software at some point, but there are no defined plans yet and no time frame.
So yes, we will keep looking at how to get this done.

Would there be any confirmation of adding support of this feature into MCA?
From what we've heard is that MCA can only run on Windows XP Tablet/Win Vista.
If we cannot utilize the Tablet OS functionalty to its fullest.
The question for intel is why design it to operate on tablet OS?

You are correct, the MCA is designed to run on an XP or Vista tablet. That is the usage model we chose to focus on for the MCA software.
One approach we have been looking at would be to make the screen orientation a setting in the configuration file. The user could set the preferred screen orientation (portrait or landscape) on a per application basis in the MCA configuration file. It would not allow the user to switch screen orientation on the fly or by pressing the orientation button on their tablet. We have not made a final decision yet, nor do we have a timetable for implementation. The downside to using this method is that it would not allow a user to switch modes on the fly, it would be static on a per application basis.
Would something like this work for you, or do you need the user to be able to switch screen orientation on the fly within the same application or on an as needed basis?
