What's cool about Moblin?

My good friends at the Intel Software Network have launched a terrific new way to deliver technology videos to the community: ISN TV.

For their launch this week, they invited me to give a brief interview on Moblin v2.0, which had its beta release last month. This was a fun way to show you the really cool features like the social networking integration, fast boot and shutdown, and some of the philosophy behind Moblin. I hope you enjoy it!

What is your netbooks application wish-list?

Calling all netbooks users. What applications do you wish you had for your netbooks? Netbooks are gaining more traction in multiple geographies and are designed to provide consumers and professionals with a great mobile experience. They're not however optimal if you need to create new, rich content with heavy-duty apps. If you could put your wish-list of apps or services you would like to see available for your netbook, what would it be?

While I was trying different OS options on the Eee PC 901, I spent some time with Ubuntu Eee. It's not an official Ubuntu/Canonical project, but rather a community driven custom distribution with some Eee-specific features and tweaks. It's quite nice, and very functional.
