Dr. Chen received his PhD degree from University of Karlsruhe (TH), Germany, in 1993. Worked as a research fellow in CNRS-LAAS, Toulouse France for a year. From 1994 to 2000, he held a teaching appointment in the school of Computer Science at the Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Chen joined Arizona State University in 2001.
