An incompatibility has been found between version 2012 R5 of the Intel GPA product and the latest Android* platform tools release (R16+). This issue only occurs with Windows OS* clients connecting to Android* devices. It does not affect users running the latest version of Intel GPA (2013 R1), or customers using R14 of the Android* platform tools, users running Ubuntu* or OS X* clients, or customers analyzing Windows OS* target devices.

If you attempt to run Intel GPA System Analyzer from a Windows OS* client system that has R16+ installed, you will see the following "adb" error:

If you run into this issue, your best solution is to install the latest version of Intel GPA, 2013 R1 (available here), or install an earlier version of the Android* platform tools (such as R14).
