Top 10 technology predictions for 2013 - and a few for 2014 impacting Games.
Some people like to get a head start on their 2013 predictions and get a jump on the rest of us. (Ok.. I'll admit... I'm a ~month late!) So here's my gift to you. I'll go wayyy out on a limb & do some 2014 predictions.

PAX 2012 – What a Show!
PAX 2012 this year was another sell out show with at least 70,000 or more people showing up in Seattle. Aside from some volunteer booth duty, an interview for a Publication, and some great Partner meetings; the big highlights for me this year were as follows:
1) The Customers/Attendees. The energy in the crowd was infectious. Seeing everyone so excited over the show and just simply ‘getting-into-it’. Tons of Cosplay & incidentally some very amazing costumes! Everyone seemed to be just having a great time.

A Collection of Luminaries
Earlier this week, I had the privilege to attend an uncommon event in the field of computer graphics and visualization. There were some 130 people in attendance including:
- People who have written or contributed to approximately 20 papers accepted for publication in the upcoming SIGGRAPH 2012 proceedings
- 8 people who have won SIGGRAPH achievement awards, including two lifetime achievement award winners and four of the past eight “Significant New Researcher” award winners

With Google IO fast approaching and GDC just completed I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the game engines available for mobile devices, specifically for x86 based mobile devices. There are many game engine choices out there, all with a different set of features, pricing, maturity, etc. After conducting a search online, I found a wide variety of game engines that can be used for creating games for Android* based mobile devices. Some provide x86 support, while others can be ported to support x86 devices without too much effort.
