KVM support details in AMT 6.0

Hi,

I'm using KVM available in AMT version 6.0.30-build 1203 through TightVNCViewer, RealVNC Viewer Plus, and Intel commander tool

I'm facing following issues in KVM

1. If OS restarts, KVM connection got disconnected. It's not stable, sometime able to see the restart process, sometimes disconnected message. In AMT 7.0 version there is no problem with OS restart

2. In AMT SDK it is mentioned

The KVM feature supports gaming and signage platforms that have high-resolution graphics (1920x1080 with 16 bits of color depth).

Outpost Tool not connecting localy

Hi. I have a Aopen media player DE67-HA with latest bios 1.01
AMT is provisioned and I can manage the pc remotely. Even KVM, console and redirection works.

The problem I have is with enabling Outpost on this managed pc. I am using latest "Manageability_Developer_Tool_Kit_7_0_11340_2". I imported certificate to Outpost. But still error prevents me to connect.

Below is screenshoot of error and ME information. What am I missing here?

using AMTDiscovery.cs

I am trying to discover AMT enabled machines on a network and it looks like the AMTDiscovery.cs class from the Manageability DTK will be able to help me out here.

I am trying to call the Start method with a range of IP addresses. I am just not exactly sure how to get the discovered computer information back to the client of the class. The reportedComputers dictionaryon AMTDiscovery.csisprivate. Am I missing something? Is there another way to retrieve this information?

KVM doesn't work with the latest Manageability Commander Tool (v. 7.0.11340.2)

Hi,

I can't KVM into Intel QM57 based computer (AMT
v6.0) using the latest Manageability Commander Tool (v. 7.0.11340.2). I
can connect and take control of the computer using Serial-over LAN, but
KVM always fails.

KVM works fine with an earlier version of the tool (v6.0.10097.2).

Is there something that needs to be done to make KVM work with the latest commander tool?

Thanks,

Vladimir

SINIT AC Modules

I've been trying to find the correct SINIT AC module to pair with a HP 8100 Elite Desktop (Q57 chipset). I found that the olderi5_i7_DUAL_SINIT_18.BIN module works with the machine but the newer v51 modules do not (i7_QUAD-SINIT_51.BIN ori5_i7_DUAL-SINIT_51.BIN).
Has anyone else run into this issue?

Forcefully disconnecting console users

The AMT power management functions do not work when someone is connected to the KVM-over-IP console.
Is there any way to override that behavior? E.g. by forcefully disconnecting the user?

I noticed IPS_KVMRedirectionSettingData and AMT_RedirectionService have a TerminateSession() function, but those only seem to work locally (Permitted realms: ADMIN_SECURITY_LOCAL_SYSTEM_REALM).
Need something that works remotely.

Possible to run headless?

Has anyone succeeded in running AMT systems headless, with no monitor cable attached? Noticed that when there is no monitor cable connected, I do not get any visual with the KVM-over-IP either. Once I do connect the monitor cable the missing visual appears instantly. I do can access the BIOS and GRUB with kvm-over-ip, so might be a (Debian) Linux only issue.

Can AMT be used to change boot order and boot from a USB key?

We have some systems installed in client locations that are essentially kiosks and have no keyboard attached to them. Also the BIOS is protected with passwords. We are looking at the possibility of being able to remotely tell a system to boot from a bootable USB key. Will AMT be able to help with this ?
