When developing / testing on older versions of Windows XP:
If you are building and testing your app on older versions of Windows XP, you may encounter this error message when launching your app:
'The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.'
This problem can be resolved by installing the Visual Studio 2008 redistributable package (here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en ).
Note: this is *not* a problem for the end user as the redistributable package is deployed to end users as part of the AppUpSM center client software.
