When running the Intel GPA System Analyzer, occasionally you'll see incorrect CPU metric values, such as for the "Target App CPU load". You can tell that they are "incorrect" since the values are very large random numbers.
Intel GPA gets these CPU metrics from the OS, but for some unknown reason occasionally the internal CPU counters that Microsoft Windows* maintains become corrupted.
To fix this, reset the CPU counters by running the following command as an administrator: lodctr -R
If running this command does not immediately resolve your problem, reboot your system and verify that Intel GPA now reports the correct values. If this does not resolve the problem, please create a new post on the Intel GPA Support Forum. In your post, please also include your system configuration information by right-clicking the Intel GPA Monitor icon in the notification tray and copying the "About..." text as part of your posting.
