We submitted two air Apps which has been already published in Adobe Market place. iContacts and iAlarm.

iContacts is still under validation it almost 14 days past since we submitted. We can understand that during initial stages there will be many roadblocks and a big queue but if we can speed up little bit that will be great.

iAlarm has been rejected saying " Application does not download or install from AppUp. The app installs and launches natively but not from within AppUp. The most common issue observed in this area has to do with properly advertised shortcuts within the .msi . We never used .msi , we have submitted only air file. The comments says advertised shortcuts within the .msi.

Do we need to use only melrose sdks ? As mentioned in intel app site, we have build AIR app with Flex Builder 3 using Flex SDK 3.5a
It has been digitally signed.

Please let us know what has to be done.

What was your validation failure message?

To answer your questions:

Your installer must create shortcuts to your primary executable. Said executable must include the ATOM authorization calls. As such, you could have your executable ShellEx (or other means) open a web browser to the URL you mentioned.

Yes, as long as all shortcuts point to the same executable, and said executable makes the ATOM SDK calls I see no issue in that implementation.

One bit of advice, is to be sure that the user cannot alter the URL to end up at inappropriate web content. That would result in a validation failure.

Hello Brian

I had recently submitted my application which failed validation process. Here is the failure message.

Failure Reason: ILU01 - Application install
Additional Comments: Application does not install to AppUp. Error log files indicate that there is an invalid argument. SIMPLE INSTALLER - START TEST-FAIL: ERR_INVALID_ARG Check Application Executable FAIL GET-EXEC-FAIL: execution command not found: UNKNOWN

But last week I had registered myself as a beta tester to the AppUp center and I was successful in installing the same application on my mobile net-book using the AppUp client. Please let me know if I am missing anything here.

Thank you for posting your query here.

It does seems a bit strange why the app fails validation when you successfully beta-tested it yourself on the AppUp(SM). But just to double check that everything is still working fine with your application, please can you re-test it.
Make sure that you beta-test your application on the Operating system it is intended to run. That is if you stated the app is for both Windows XP and Windows 7, then you need to test it on Windows XP and Windows 7 as well. Also you need to check that even if the application is installing successfully, it should not be generating any error messages at any point even those errors do not influence the installation process.
One more point to note is that the application has to be fully installed from within the app up and this has to be silent installation, requiring no user interaction during installation.

Please can you re-test the application and get back to us if you are still able to install it from AppUp(SM) successfully without any issues, and I will investigate further what is causing it to fail validation.
