Storage Administration and Operations

The storage feature enables ISV applications to allocate and use Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) that Intel AMT manages locally on the client platform. Data placed in an NVM memory block are persistent. As a result, this data can be accessed even while the Operating System (OS) is not functioning or is uninstalled, as long as the system is physically connected to power and to a network.

The functionality that the Storage feature provides is also referred to as Third Party Data Storage (3PDS).

 Deprecation Note:

The storage feature was deprecated in Release 11.0 and removed from the Intel ME in Release 12.0.45.1000. In its place, the Web Application Hosting feature has been implemented.

 Note:

When updating firmware from an earlier version to Intel ME 12.0.45.1000 or later, files that were previously stored in the 3PDS will not be deleted by the Intel ME, and will take up space from the Web Application Hosting feature's quota. Intel therefore recommends deleting these files before performing the firmware update.
