Installing Translated Intel® Debugger Documentation for Linux* OS

 

This document explains how to download and install translated Intel Debugger documentation for Intel® C++ Compiler Professional Edition and Intel® Fortran Compiler Professional Edition for Linux* OS.

Installation involves manually downloading and installing the translated documentation.

Retrieving the Documentation

  1. Navigate to http://www.intel.com/software/products/compilers/.
  2. Locate and click the Product Documentation link.
  3. Locate and click the Intel® C++ Compiler Professional Edition for Linux* or Intel® Fortran Compiler Professional Edition for Linux* link.
  4. Locate the click the Translated Intel® Debugger Documentation: 11.1p_idb_docs.tar.gz link.
  5. Download the archive (.tar.gz) file: 11.1p_idb_docs.tar.gz to your local system.
  6. Extract the contents and directories in the archive (.tar.gz) files to a temporary area on your local system using the Linux tar command.
    (Note the location of the temporary area. You will be copying files from the location.)

Installing the Documentation

On your system, navigate to the installed product documentation directory. The default path installation path is /opt/intel/Compiler/11.1/<build number>/Documentation/ directory. Yours might be different.

Installing the Intel® Debugger Command Reference

  1. In the default installation path, locate and the ../Documentation/ja_JP/idb/ directory.
  2. In your temporary area, locate the Japanese version of the file: IDB_command_reference.pdf.
  3. Copy the following file from your temporary area to the ../ja_JP/idb/ directory: IDB_command_reference.pdf. (If prompted, choose to overwrite the existing file.)

Installing the Intel® Debugger Online Help

  1. In the default installation path, locate the /opt/intel/Compiler/11.1/<build number>/idb/gui/common/com.intel.debugger.help_1.0.0/.
  2. Locate the ../nl/ja/JP sub-directory. (You need to update files only in this location.)
  3. In your temporary area, locate the com.intel.debugger.help_1.0.0 directory.
  4. Copy only the following files from the temporary area to the ../nl/ja/JP sub-directory:
    File names
    toc.xml
    contexts.xml
    doc.zip

    If prompted, choose to overwrite the existing files.
     

  5. Ignore all other files in the temporary area.
