Overview

The Cryptography Processing for the Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives v6.1  for Linux* OS  package is a stand-alone installation that contains the binaries and header files for the Cryptography Processing portion of the Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives v6.1 for Linux* OS  (which must be installed first).

Installation

To install the Cryptography Processing for the Intel IPP package on Linux*:
  1. In order to install this package, the Intel® IPP 6.1  for Linux* package must be installed first.
  2. Use the tar command to extract the Cryptography Processing for the Intel® IPP package in a directory to which you have write access.
  3. Become the root user, needed to run the rpm command, and execute the install script in the directory where the tar file was extracted.

  4. ./install
  5. The Intel® software products already installed will be listed, followed by a menu of products to install which includes:
  6. Select a package to install. Before the installation begins, you will be asked to enter a temporary directory in which the contents of the self-extracting installation file will be placed before actual installation begins. After installation, the files will still be located in this temp directory and must be deleted manually. All necessary packages needed to use the product will also be installed. The recommended installation directory is /opt/intel/ipp/6.1.x.x.x

  7. After installation, the packages installed will be redisplayed, followed by a redisplay of the install menu. Enter 'x' to exit the install script.

Intel® IPP uses Macrovision's* FLEXlm* electronic licensing technology. License management should be transparent, but if you have any problems during installation, please make sure a current license file (*.lic) is located in the same directory as the install file. If you still have problems, please submit an issue to Intel® Premier Support.  See the "Technical Support and Feedback" section of this document for details.
