The mobile technology enables farmers to receive alerts to conditions that may threaten crops and to take timely action - even when they're located far from fields and greenhouses.
By monitoring and controlling to measured conditions in the facility, ClimateMinder can increase productivity and product quality, optimize growth patterns, shorten time-to-market, save water and reduce cost for nutrients and pest control.
At the heart of system is ClimateMinder's patent-pending, GrowFlex™ technology, which consists of two pieces: (1) a self-organizing, battery- or solar-powered wireless sensor network in the field, and (2) a wireless data connection to cellular data network - the same one available on your mobile phone. GrowFlex™ provides growers maximum deployment flexibility.
Unlike other systems that require major field infrastructure, ClimateMinder, does not require a PC in field facilities and does not require deployment of wires between sensor nodes and controller nodes, isolating potential damage from electromagnetic disturbances. A suite of environment sensors is available and has been certified for ClimateMinder.
ClimateMinder is developed with mobile access in mind. Data collected in the greenhouse or farm is transferred through the GSM network to a reliable and highly available central server. Growers can use the GrowMobile™ application on a supported mobile phone or web browser to set up data collection, review measurements, set alert and control conditions; and/or send control commands to turn climate systems on or off. A password-protected web site and GrowMobile™ cell phone application give the mobility and remote access capability that growers want.
ClimateMinder, Inc. (Kodalfa) develops complete wireless sensor network solutions for smart agriculture and food industry applications. ClimateMinder's inherently flexible software / hardware integration techniques resolve commercialization issues of sensor networks by optimizing efficiency and speeding up the development process. Large scale distributed systems built with small-size and low-cost sensors are powerful tools for sensing activities and interacting with the physical environment. Although sensor networks are very powerful, they present challenges like energy efficiency, data transfer reliability and scalability. ClimateMinder uses industry standards and its cutting edge tech
