Developer Guide and Reference

Counts the number of trailing least significant zero bits in source operand and returns the result in destination. When source operand is 0, it returns its size in bits. The corresponding Intel® AVX2 instruction is

extern unsigned int _tzcnt_u32(unsigned int source);
extern unsigned __int64 _tzcnt_u64(unsigned __int64 source);
the source operand used for the operation
Searches the source operand for the least significant set bit. If a least significant 1 bit is found, its bit index is returned, otherwise the result is the number of bits in the operand size.
Result of the operation.

Product and Performance Information

Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
