Pane: Metrics Control

The
Metrics Control
pane displays a group of hardware, driver, and application metrics used for the analysis of your system or a specific graphics application. For different target systems and workloads, there might be different metrics available.
All metrics are subdivided into logical groups as described in Performance Metrics Reference .
The
Metrics Control
panel allows you to:
  • Select available metrics from the list, as well as switch between metric sets to change the set of available metrics
  • Instantly capture a trace
  • Instantly capture a frame
  • Select the process to profile
  • Run experiments to determine the performance impact of different rendering techniques on your application

Type filter expression
field
Filters metrics by name. Saves previous search keywords.
Hide inactive metrics
button
Hides all metrics that are not available under the currently selected metric set.
Collapse all groups button
Closes all unfolded groups to the list of connected hosts.
Expand all groups
button
Unfolds all groups.
Capture trace
button
Captures a trace file for the connected host and saves the captured trace to the folder specified in the
Settings
pane of the Graphics Monitor
Control
panel
.
NOTE
The availability of the Frame Capture option depends on the mode you selected in Graphics Monitor.

Select Process
button
Opens a dialogue to select an available application for analysis or switch to System View mode.
Select Metric Set
button
Allows you to switch between different metric sets. This option is only available on systems with Intel® Graphics.
Capture Frame
button
Captures a frame for the connected host and saves the captured frame to the folder specified in the
Settings
pane of the Graphics Monitor
Control
panel
.
NOTE
The availability of the Frame Capture option depends on the mode you selected in Graphics Monitor.
Enable State Override
button
Allows you to enable various State Overrides. This option is only available for DirectX* 11 and OpenGL* applications.
Color
boxes
Opens the color palette to customize individual track colors.

Product and Performance Information

Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
