Bluetooth® Overview

The Intel® Joule compute module includes an Intel ® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 adapter. The adapter has

Dual mode Bluetooth® 4.2 enabling BR/EDR - Low Energy protocols, supports Bluetooth® Core Specification Version 4.2 with provisions for supporting future specifications. It also supports Bluetooth® Class 1 or Class 2 transmitter operation.
Reference Operating System for IoT includes the BlueZ stack and various utilities for debugging.
Please refer to Wireless Connectivity for supported Bluetooth profiles. bluez5 removed support for the HSP/HFP profiles (telephony headset for TeamSpeak, Skype, etc.). You need to install PulseAudio (>= version 6) or another application that implements HSP/HFP itself.

Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
