Updating mraa Libraries

The mraa library is bundled in the Ref-OS-IoT image. If you choose to update this library, the mapping can change and may be beyond the scope of this document.
The following command will build the latest libmraa (MRAA) from source:
curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/intel-iot-devkit/joule-code-samples/master/mraa-install.sh | sh
If you want to develop code using MRAA or UPM in Java*, you’ll need to add the Java bindings -- because they are excluded by default from the reference image to save space. To build the Java* bindings as well, include the following Cmake flag in line 30 of the mraa-install.sh file:
You can also check the version of MRAA installed by using the command:
mraa-gpio version

Product and Performance Information

Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
