Xlinker

Passes a linker option directly to the linker.

Syntax

Linux:
-Xlinker
option
Windows:
None
Arguments
option
Is a linker option.
Default
OFF
No options are passed directly to the linker.
Description
This option passes a linker option directly to the linker. If
-Xlinker -shared
is specified, only
-shared
is passed to the linker and no special work is done to ensure proper linkage for generating a shared object.
-Xlinker
just takes whatever arguments are supplied and passes them directly to the linker.
If you want to pass compound options to the linker, for example "
-L $HOME/lib
", you must use the following method:
-Xlinker -L -Xlinker $HOME/lib
