Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Block

A digital signal processing (DSP) block implements specific support for common fixed-point and floating-point arithmetic, which reduces the need to build equivalent logic from general-purpose ALMs.
The following figure illustrates a simplified three-input DSP block consisting of a multiplier (×) and an adder (+):

Product and Performance Information


Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations.
