COMPRESS-RAW-DATA

Use the
COMPRESS_RAW_DATA
option to make Intel® Trace Collector store raw data in compressed format.
The compression works for raw events only. The merge process will be performed either by the
stftool
utility or by Intel® Trace Analyzer when you open the collected trace.
To do this:
  1. In a new configuration file, set the
    KEEP_RAW_EVENTS
    and
    COMPRESS_RAW_DATA
    to
    ON
    :
    KEEP_RAW_EVENTS ON COMPRESS_RAW_DATA ON
  2. Save the configuration file as
    my_settings_compress.conf
    .
  3. Set the
    VT_CONFIG
    environment variable to the directory that contains the configuration file:
    VT_CONFIG=/<
    configuration file path name
    >/my_settings_compress.conf
  4. Run the application.
    Linux* OS:
    $ mpirun -trace -n 4 ./poisson
    Windows* OS:
    > mpiexec -n 4 poisson.exe

Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
