Intel® VTune™ Profiler User Guide

This document provides a comprehensive overview of the product functionality, tuning methodologies, workflows, and instructions to use Intel VTune Profiler performance analysis tool.
Intel VTune
to profile serial and multithreaded applications that are executed on a variety of hardware platforms (CPU, GPU, FPGA). The tool is delivered as a Performance Profiler with Intel Performance Snapshots and supports local and remote target analysis on the Windows*, Linux*, and Android* platforms.
Though you cannot analyze applications running on the macOS* systems, you can install
on macOS*
and analyze remote Linux or Android targets.
Intel® VTune™ Amplifier has been renamed to Intel® VTune™ Profiler starting with its version for Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit (Beta). You can still use a standalone version of the VTune Profiler, or its versions integrated into Intel Parallel Studio XE or Intel System Studio.

Product and Performance Information


Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
