Automated Installation of
Intel® VTune™

Refer to the Prerequisites before you begin the installation.
The automated, or silent, installation method allows you to perform a command line installation of
Intel® VTune™
without answering prompts or making product selections. Use the following steps to set up and execute an automated installation:
  1. Download the full installer package.
  2. Extract the installation package to a writeable directory with the following command:
    tar -xzf vtune_profiler_
  3. Change directories to the location where you extracted the install files. The directory contains a configuration file named
  4. Open this file in your text editor of choice and update the values according to your preference.
    You can run the installer in interactive mode to create a new custom configuration file and install
    with this command:
    ./ -d
    The installer will generate a new
    file based on the preferences you have specified in the installer. You can then reuse this file to perform silent customized installations of
    on multiple machines.
  5. Run the following command to begin the silent installation:
    ./ -s
    .cfg --accept_eula

Product and Performance Information


Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors. These optimizations include SSE2, SSE3, and SSSE3 instruction sets and other optimizations. Intel does not guarantee the availability, functionality, or effectiveness of any optimization on microprocessors not manufactured by Intel. Microprocessor-dependent optimizations in this product are intended for use with Intel microprocessors. Certain optimizations not specific to Intel microarchitecture are reserved for Intel microprocessors. Please refer to the applicable product User and Reference Guides for more information regarding the specific instruction sets covered by this notice.
