Intel® Math Kernel Library (Intel® MKL) is a computing math library of highly optimized, extensively threaded math routines for applications that require maximum performance as they perform calculations. Core math functions include linear algebra, fast Fourier transforms (FFTs), vector math, statistics, and more. DreamWorks Animation leveraged Intel MKL to improve the performance of the fluid simulation framework in Puss in Boots.

Intel's compilers may or may not optimize to the same degree for non-Intel microprocessors for optimizations that are not unique to Intel microprocessors.
