    There were a lot of standout developers at the recent San Francisco Perceptual Computing Hackathon, one of which was Cyrus Lum, a veteran in the industry with 25 years of experience in game production, development and management roles with both publishing and independent development companies. Cyrus won with the overall Hackathon Grand Prize of $3000 with his “MyPetShadow”; a fun pet game which integrates both voice recognition and hand gestures. Here’s a video of MyPetShadow in motion:

    When you want to learn a new programming language or SDK, the first step is usually is to write a program called "Hello World!" Here, we are talking about how to use the web cam features of the Intel® Perceptual Computing SDK, so we will call our first program "Hello Cam!"

    Introduzione a Intel Perceptual SDK

    Intel Perceptual SDK è una piattaforma software/hardware per il gesture/voice/speech recognition. Per il software si ha a disposizione un insieme di librerie contenenti l’implementazione di algoritmi di rilevamento e riconoscimento esposti attraverso uno strato di astrazione (interfacce standard).

    Per l’hardware, Perceptual SDK supporta l’utilizzo della Creative Camera.

    L’utilizzo di Intel Perceptual SDK permette allo sviluppatore di semplificare lo sviluppo di applicazioni di nuova generazione basate sul paradigma NUI (Natural User Interface).
