Intel® Quiet System Technology (Intel® QST) Software Development Kit

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in the Intel® Quiet System Technology (Intel® QST) Software Development Kit. The Intel® QST SDK (Software Development Kit) contains the building blocks and documentation material needed to develop software that interact with Intel® QST systems.

Note: Intel® Quiet System Technology (QST) SDK is only applicable to 965 and 3, 4 and 5 Series boards. Intel® Quiet System Technology (QST) SDK does not support the Intel® QST implementation that is built into the eSIO devices on the 8 Series Intel® Desktop Boards.

Overview

The Intel® Quiet System Technology Software Development Kit provides developers with the building blocks and example programs that they need to build their own applications that can interact with Intel® QST. Support is included for building applications for the DOS, Microsoft Windows*, Linux and Solaris operating system environments. The SDK contains no binary components; full source code is provided for all components. This includes the source for the primary libraries that support communications with, and the instrumentation of the sensors and controllers being managed by, Intel® QST, as well as that for a number of example programs and services.

Hi,

Today I tried to download the Intel QST SDK. I am working to add temperature and fan speed controlling to VxWorks 6.8, to be able to reduce the noise of the system fans in our embedded hardware. However both the links for the SDK and the reference manual in the article seem to be dead...

Best regards, Philipp

Is there any QST support for Win 7? QST was running fine on Win XP but after upgraded to Win 7, QST crashed, using QST SDK 2.1

Under Windows 7, 64 bits (tools and libs compiled in 64 bits), I get an exception when calling DeviceIoControl for IOCTL_HECI_CONNECT_CLIENT with status 00000006 (ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE) althought the previous CreateFile succeeds.
Any idea ?

For those experiencing the following error on Linux systems using the MEI driver:

*** Unable to communicate with QST Subsystem!!
ERRNO = 19 (No such device)

A modified version of the SDK is available at https://github.com/gigaplex/Intel_QST_SDK for compatibility with the IOCTL changes in the driver.

Hi opperpanter,

how did you solve your problem (ERRNO = 19...)?

I have the same Board and could successfully compile the mei module and QST SDK. But the example programs of the sdk does always return the error 19.

When I build all files on Linux (Debian Squeeze) and run the StatTest program, it exits after a delay telling me that there's no QST device:

*** Unable to communicate with QST Subsystem!!
ERRNO = 19 (No such device)

I did install the MEI driver, because the heci driver from www.openamt.org doesn't compile (it's almost three years old).

It's an Intel DH55TC, so QST is supported.

Greetings,

Is there a relation between this program(Quiet System Technology) with the Multi Point Serve(Microsoft solution)?
