How Do I Get a License File for an Offline Installation of an Intel® Software Development Product?

[Note: Applies to many Intel Software Tools such as Intel® Parallel Studio XE, Intel® System Studio, Intel SDKs for computer vision, OpenCL™, media, etc.]

If you have a named-user license and you intend to install Intel® Parallel Studio XE or another Intel® Software Development Product on a system that is not connected to the Internet you will need to obtain a license file for the offline installation. Start by obtaining your serial number, which is provided in your Intel software tool registration email. To generate a license file you need to do the following:

  1. Obtain the Host ID of your system. You will need to provide it when activating your Serial Number.
How to find the host ID for a Named-user license.

  2. Open the registration email for your product. In the paragraph below the Download button you will find a direct link to the product in the Intel® Registration Center.

Or, log in to the Intel® Registration Center by entering your login ID and password. You will see a list of your products. Select the desired product from the list. You will be taken to the Subscription History page. Click Mange to view the license(s) associated with the serial number.

  3. Under Activate Serial Number enter your Host ID. Note: You don’t have to enter all the Host ID values for your system. Entering the Host ID of the Ethernet Adapter is a good choice.

  4. Click the Activate Serial Number button. A license file will be generated for your system.

  5. Once the license file is generated you will be able to download it or send it to your email.
Note: Each license file is unique and is locked to a specific system. As such, the license file from one system will not work on another system

  6. If you need to install on more than one offline system, you will need to repeat the process for each system, up to the allowed number of systems as specified in the End User License Agreement.

  7. For instructions on how to install the license file on your system refer to: "How do I manually install my new license" in the licensing FAQ.
