Intel® Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (Intel® HAXM)

Intel® Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (Intel® HAXM) is a hardware-assisted virtualization engine (hypervisor) that uses Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) to speed up Android* app emulation on a host machine. In combination with Android x86 emulator images provided by Intel and the official Android SDK Manager, Intel HAXM allows for faster Android emulation on Intel VT enabled systems.

The following platforms are supported by Intel HAXM:

Microsoft Windows*
Windows® 10 (32/64-bit), Windows* 8 and 8.1 (32/64-bit), Windows* 7 (32/64-bit)

Intel HAXM is required to run this AVD.
Android Emulator is incompatible with Hyper-V.

Unfortunately, you cannot have Hyper-V running and use the emulator.
Here is what you can do:
  1) Start a command prompt as Administrator
  2) Run the following command: C:\Windows\system32> bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
  3) Reboot your machine.

TRIED MANY METHODS , DISABLING VIRTUALIZATION AND TRIED TO INSTALL HAXM , BUT IT FAILS WITH THE MESSAGE , TO ACTIVATE VIRTUALIZATION IN BIOS . WHEN IT IS ACTIVATED THEN THIS ERROR IS STILL THERE,

I AM USING DELL 1440 INSPIRON. ANY HELP IN THIS REGARD WILL BE APPRICIATED

Asha, Fuyu,

I also tried installing directly from the .dmg but was unable to run an accelerated device on macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.2.

Just to be sure I modified the silent_install.sh and successfully ran it, but still got the same error when I tried an accelerated android emulator  "/dev/HAX is missing"

diff silent_install.sh

-for v in 10.8 10.9 10.10 10.11 10.12

+for v in 10.8 10.9 10.10 10.11 10.12 10.13

The .sh script blocks based on macOS version, but you can install directly using the IntelHAXM_6.2.1.dmg on macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and it works for my use case (running Android Emulators).

Hi,

Are there updates regarding supporting macOS High Sierra?

Folks have to upgrade in order to patch their systems for Spectre https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208397 so the priority of this request is now higher.

Thanks.

Doesn't support MacOS High Sierra. When can we expect it will be supported?
