Internal Compiler Errror for Molpro file geminal.f on Intel® 64 processor using the Intel® Fortran Compiler, 11.0

Reference Number :

Version :
Intel Fortran Compiler 11.0, Professional Edition

Operating System :

Problem Description :
The Intel® Fortran Compiler for Linux* Professional Edition, Vesion 11.0 will fail with an Internal Compiler Error when compiling the file geminal.f from the Molpro* application with the options -O3 and -i8 for execution on an Intel® 64 processor.

Resolution Status :

This problem is corrected in compiler version 11.1.  As a workaround compile local/geminal.f with -O2 instead of the default (as configured) -O3. To do this, edit the file utilities/configure/Linux.xml . Find the section beginning:

<compiler type="FC" machine="x86_64">
<name>Intel Fortran Compiler (ifort for x86_64)</name>

Below this you will find several lines beginning with

<var name="F_OPT2"

Add below these lines a new line with the following contents:

<var name="F_OPT2" value="local/geminal.f"/>

Close the file and then rebuild Molpro.  You may find, depending on when you get the distribution of the Molpro sources, that this change has already been made.
