License changes in Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2016 Beta

This Beta release of the Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2016 introduces a major change to the 'Named-user' licensing scheme (provided as default for the 2016 Beta licenses).  Read below for more details on this new functionality as well as a list of special exceptions.  Following a thorough Beta testing period, implementation will carry forward into the product release.

  • Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers: Analyzing Windows* Applications Running on 32-bit Target Systems

    Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers (Intel® GPA) are tools for graphics analysis and optimization that can help you make games and other graphics-intensive applications run even faster. In general, direct installation of Intel® GPA on 32-bit Windows* systems is not supported. However, if you need to analyze an application on a 32-bit Windows* target system, you can use the following workaround:

  • Using Intel® Trace Analyzer and Collector Version 9 with Intel® MPI Library Version 4

    If you are compiling your program with Intel® MPI Library Version 4 and adding the Intel® Trace Analyzer and Collector Version 9 (Initial Release or Update 1 only) at compile or link time via the -trace option, you will encounter linkage problems, similar to the following:

  • Sampling Driver Version Information Incorrect for VTune™ Amplifier XE 2015 Update 1

    The version year information contained in the prebuilt driver vtsspp for VTune™ Amplifier XE 2015 Update 1 is incorrect. You may notice this when using a tool such as readelf to view the binary elf headers, or when browsing the sepdk source files.

  • Known Issue: NDK_TOOLCHAIN does not work in Application.mk for other compilers after integration of the Intel® C++ Compiler 15.0 toolchain

    Cause:

    The vectorization report generated using Intel® Fortran Compiler's optimization and vectorization report options includes non-vectorized loop instance:

    Linux OS or OS X: -qopt-report-phase=vec
