Hi,
Recently I download windows 7 trial version and use it. It is good. With W7 they give a Graphic and Audio drivers, Graphic driver are ok, but Audio driver is not good. I have Intel D945GNT Classic series and before W7 I use last updated IDT sound driver which is really good. IDT install with W7 but when turn on PC later it can’t work.
I want to know did you launch a new drivers according W7? If you launch that so how can I
Downloaded it?
Thanks
Robin

Hello, I have installed the release candidate of windows 7 but if the laptop is on battery power screen goes black, then comes back again and I get the message that the display driver had stopped working and has recovered. What to do? Is it a common problem?

People using Intel 852/855 chips are too many to ignore... Please make a WDDM driver for these graphics chips.

whats up Rahul, well bout ur problem, if ur laptop comes with win vista, when vista appears some ppl haves this problem with it when they use Nvidia video cards or ATI, ur laptop its ok i think, most of the laptops comes with 1gb of ram or more which is the minimum requeriment to intall win 7 (talking bout ram), if u can put more info of ur laptop, like: ram, operating system (the one ur laptop brings from the factory), processor, which video card ur laptop use and if u have a tv card on it, with this info i will be able to find an answeer for you because i can say something but may not work on your comp...read if ur laptop haves all the necesarie requeriments to install win 7.

Here’s what you need to have:
Internet access (to download Windows 7 RC and get updates)
A PC with these minimum recommended specifications:
- 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor or higher
- 1 GB of system memory or more
- 16 GB of available disk space
- Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
- DVD-R/W Drive
Please note these specifications could change. And, some product features of Windows 7, such as the ability to watch and record live TV or navigation through the use of "touch," may require advanced or additional hardware.

I'm a bit stunned by this whole conversation. I use XP on my desktop computers. I have Vista on a laptop (Dell Latitude D830) and I hate it (Vista, not the laptop). I hate it so much that I decided to downoad Windows 7 Release Candidate the very morning Microsoft made it available to the general public and obliterate Vista for ever. So far I really like Windows 7.

I'm not a developer. I do know about chipsets, drivers and graphics cards. And I know I've got Intel graphics chips because Second Life won't run and gives me an "Intel graphics driver" error.

But I've no idea what WDDM and GMA mean. Nor the other techie stuff. All I know is that Second Life won't run (and possibly other things I haven't found yet) and I'm assuming that companies like Intel and Microsoft are onto the problem and working on it.

But you seem to be saying that Intel is doing nothing. Surely this can't be true?

When I bought my two desktop computers I specified Intel processors because I felt they were the best. But my confidence is badly dented.

Tell me, is Second Life ever going to work under W7 on a laptop with Intel chips or am I waiting in vain?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

sup Brian, im not from intel, 2 yung i think to b in there lol but i do know bouth ur problem, its bcause of the drivers for a laptop, usualy they dont bring video cards like nvidia or ati, but yah second life will work on win7 when intel create video card drivers for this win7, wddm its the driver that this windows need to acelerate the graphics in this case 3D graphics, i ustued to play vside and also cannot run it on this win cuz need the driver, i hope that intel create this drivers soon, and then we can start to use the 3D graphics as full as we can...its not ur comp dont worrie it will work happend to me on my desktop computer its all about drivers that will appear soon i hope...

well guys ... give intel some break ... they have been slammed with huge fine from EU ( 1.45 billion dollars ) ... well those who want to play some games on intel GMA 950 ... they can approach this group ... i am a member of this group and with the help of this group i am able to play lots of games which i thought or not playable using this crap GMA ..

http://groups.google.com/group/intel9x-gaming

hope u will be happy with the group ..

Just use a Vista driver release, it works fine on Windows 7.
I don't play games on my laptop (which has the Intel GFX) so can't say how "bad" it is for gaming.
I don't except it to be good either, ATI and nVidia are the leading gpu makers..
So the power horses are in my stationary, and they run perfect under Windows 7 with any game I throw at them.

i have Intel 852/855 and somehow i got it to work with windows 7 RC. i think i just used the latest driver from HP (laptop maked) and its working, though i am not sure since i dont remember.
the driver says: "Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)"
