Hacking Project Anarchy on Android! - Sac State, November 2013

Sac State Anarchy on Android Hackathon Poster

Deadline extended to Ocotber 25th. sign up now!

I am very excited to be working with students from Sacramento State and UC Davis again to develop another student guided hackathon.  This hackathon will be a bit of a departure from our previous efforts in that we will be experimenting with using the Project Anarchy Game platform and tool set.

Those of you who were at our previous Sac State Hackathon might remember our constant scoldings not to use a game engine in the HTML5 hackathon.  Well, that was then, this is now.

This time - Use the Freaking  Anarchy Game Engine!  See where Anarchy can take you on Android.

Will it be challenging?  You bet!  Will it be a fun, awesome experience that will help you push the boundaries of where your development skills are?  Yeah!

When is this event? - It's right there on the poster!  November 9th and 10th, 2013 at Sac State University.

Who is it for?  It is being organized by the Sac State Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, but it is open to all computer Science and Engineering students (and others) who are interested.

Everyone?  You must have a huge room! - Well, the room is big, but we do have to limit the size.  I really meant to say that it is open for all to apply. This will be more challenging than the HTML5 hackathons in the past.  Those with C/C++ skills and/or Lua scripting skills will feel at home.  That said, we are looking for folks who are non-coders as well.  Especially those with math or artistic backgrounds - your skills are welcome and needed.

Is this only for Sac State Students?  No.  But there is no transportation provided.  If you are enrolled in a College or university nearby, please feel free to apply.

What should I do to find out if this is for me?  Glad you asked.  The best thing to do first is to go to the Project Anarchy site, download the free tutorials and get started with Anarchy game development.  If you find this is something you want to pursue further, contact us.

How do I apply for a place? Apply here.

If you are not in Northern California, or feel that this not he right hackathon for you, but want to learn more, just leave a comment below this post.  Feel free to let me know if another such hackathon would make sense at your school or university. You do not have to make your email public, I can get it through my super-secret admin tools on the this site.

Hope to see some of you in Sacramento or another Intel Hackathon soon.
