Vulkan BETA 15.40.20.4404 Graphics Driver for Windows® 7/8.1/10 [15.40]

That post is out of date. Vulkan support is out of Beta and in every driver release since February, 2017

Here is the post that covers that:

Testing Vulkan on Surface Pro 4, Dialog error appears when the code tries to LoadLibrary(igvk64.dll) or the 32bit version. Any ideas?

Hello,

After installing the driver, the Intel Graphics Control Panel still reports version 20.19.15.4404 instead of the 15.40.20.4404. Also in the control panel, it does not mention Vulkan anywhere nor do any Vulkan applications function correctly.

I'm using a laptop with Intel Iris 6100 graphics.

Vulkan runtimes issue:

All Intel GPUs expose the same devicename : “GPU”

This confuses databases like Willems' vulkanCapsViewer

Hi Everyone,

For those of you seeing issues using Vulkan, as stated in the Summary above Beta support for Vulkan 1.0 is on 6th Generation Intel Core and related processors only. Sorry for any confusion.

Hi Mike,

Can we expect a driver support for Batman Arkham Knight? I am really desperate to play that game since long, but it keeps crashing as soon as I see a batman logo.

Here's my system details:

5th Generation Intel core i5 - 5257U with Intel Iris Graphics 6100, 8 GB Apple Memory (RAM)

Windows 10 Pro (64 bit)

Driver version: 4404 (64 bit)

Thanks,

I have updated to windows 10(x64) updated driver to win64_154020.4404

i7-ivy, HD 4400

Trying the new driver '64bit - win64_54020.4404.zip' on a DELL Latitude E5550 notebook with

- OS: Windows 7 Enterprise version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)

- CPU: Intel Core i5 - 5300U 2.30 Ghz

- Video Adapter: Intel HD Graphics 5500 - Broadwell-U GT2 1024MB

- Driver details after installation (from within Device Manager/Display adapters):

  • Driver Date: 03-Mar-16
  • Driver Version: 20.19.15.4404

and C:\Windows\System32\vulkaninfo.exe gives me:

C:\releasebuild\LoaderAndValidationLayers\demos\vulkaninfo.c:697: failed with VK_ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER

Consequently, trying to run an example results in: 'Cannot find a compatible Vulkan installable client driver (ICD)....'

I have the exact same problem as Abdul R. when running vkinfo32, aswell as trying to run example code https://github.com/SaschaWillems/Vulkan vkCreateInstance will return a VK_ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER on any example.

I'm using an Intel 4590 with HD 4600, Windows 10 (64)

Abdul R.'s picture

Hello,

I'm using i5-4440 CPU and the integrated graphics HD Graphics 4600 that is listed here. I've just installed the driver using setup. First setup screen showed driver version 15.40.20.64.4404 but the next one and the actual driver version after installation is 20.19.15.4404 (is it normal that version differ?)

After reboot I also installed VulkanRT found in the setup package Graphics folder. This allowed me to execute vulkaninfo application. Unfortunately the output is as follows:

===========
VULKAN INFO
===========

Vulkan API Version: 1.0.3

ERROR: [loader] Code 0 : Couldn't open JSON file C:\VulkanSDK\1.0.3.1\Bin\VkLayer_api_dump.json

C:\releasebuild\LoaderAndValidationLayers\demos\vulkaninfo.c:691: failed with VK_ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER

this leads to a conclusion that driver for at least HD 4600 does not work.

My OS is Windows 10 (64).
