Intel® Software Innovators: March 2017 Events Promoting International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day we are happy to have so many of our innovators and friends hosting and participating in events around the world. Some events are to celebrate achievements of women in tech, others are geared to inspire women and girls to get involved in STEM, and some are hackathons or other learning and networking events. Anytime we can inspire someone, especially women, to go into technology is a good thing. Innovation itself comes from having an idea for something new, or a way to improve something, that doesn’t currently exist and in a historically male-driven field such as technology, looking at something from a women’s point of view – or the way a women’s mind works – can open doors and ignite new ideas which is just the kind of forward thinking that we are always looking for.

We invite you to learn more about the history of International Women’s Day and see what kind of events we participated in last year. Also, several of our female innovators recently participated in a post highlighting their experiences of being a women in tech, and we encourage you to read their stories.

We know that there is still a long way to go in female inclusion in technology, but we hope that events like the ones listed below not only help to get more women interested in tech, but that they also inspire others to be more inclusive, welcoming, and accommodating in their own teams, companies, and events.

Join us around the world to share your passion about technology with Intel and the community! Are there any other events we should hear about? Leave them in the comments.
