    Intel® IPT Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

    Intel® Identify Protection Technology (Intel® IPT) is meant to augment security features that allow for user identification and encryption by adding a hardware layer of protection. Intel® IPT with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) acts as a hardware security module, similar to a Smart Card. However, it is as easy to manage as software PKI deployments. Intel® IPT with protected transaction display further protects PKI certificates with a PIN code entry generated in Intel’s protected audio vision path (PAVP) using Intel’s integrated graphics. Display and entry of the PIN code is handled by secure hardware, making PIN theft very difficult.

    INTEL® HYPER-THREADING TECHNOLOGY

    Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel® HT Technology)1 uses processor resources more efficiently, enabling multiple threads to run on each core. Intel® HT Technology increases processor throughput, improving overall performance on threaded software. Intel HT Technology is available on Previous Generation Intel® Core™ processors, 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor family, and Intel® Xeon® processor family.

    TURBO BOOST

    Intel has optimized Intel® Turbo Boost Technology2 to provide even more performance when needed on 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ processor based systems. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 automatically allows processor cores to run faster than the base operating frequency if it's operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is activated when the Operating System (OS) requests the highest processor performance state (P0).

    The maximum frequency of Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is dependent on the number of active cores. The amount of time the processor spends in the Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 state depends on the workload and operating environment.

    Any of the following can set the upper limit of Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 on a given workload:

    • Number of active cores
    • Estimated current consumption
    • Estimated power consumption
    • Processor temperature

    When the processor is operating below these limits and the user's workload demands additional performance, the processor frequency will dynamically increase until the upper limit of frequency is reached. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 has multiple algorithms operating in parallel to manage current, power, and temperature to maximize performance and energy efficiency. Note: Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 allows the processor to operate at a power level that is higher than its rated upper power limit (TDP) for short durations to maximize performance.

Intel AMT Deployment via Batch Script

I recently created a script in hopes of enabling and configuring Intel AMT on all of our machines spanning several remote branches. They already have the Intel Management and Security Client installed, and it's not enabled by default - it's how they came from Dell. My plan was to copy the script to the branch server and it would use psexec to run the script on each specified workstation. In testing the script, I can open the Management and Security Client and verify that the settings appear to be correct, but if I restart and enter the MEBx interface from the bios, it hasn't applied anything - it's still disabled, and hasn't applied the new password or anything from the xml profile that was generated and specified in the script - the client doesn't seem to pass the info to the BIOS level. They are already installed on users's depts and it would take a while to go at one by one doing the configuration manually. Is it possible do that with any agent installed on the computers? I meaning, using a gui software with default password of AMT for example? or a command line? Thanks so munch.
AMT Tool RemoteControl Sources

Hi guys,   is it possible to get the source code in c# for the RemoteControl.exe tool tha comes with the ATM vPRO SDK ? I'd like to send the wakeup  byte sequence to the clients from our own application, but I dont want to run remotecontrol.exe within a shell session. Instead I'd like to send the byte sequence directly via (tcp/udp...???) to the client. Are there any samples available how this can be accomplished in c# or vb.net ? many thanks!
vPro outside corporate network / dynamic IP's / disabling red border / flashing icon

Before i start, pardon my english, it's my 3rd language. 1) Is it possible to somehow configure, that the intel vpro amt would work outside a corporate network while the computer is connected to the internet via dynamic ip through regular ethernet cable/wifi/3g modem. 2) And it possible to configure through MEBx that the computer would always connect to dynamic dns service, so i could always connect to it without having to hassle finding the ip which changes everytime (or is there another way to achieve this?). Also read about some MPS server thing, maybe it is used for this? 3) Is there a way to connect through KVM (to screenview/control) without any popups like the UltraVNC has/no red border/flashing icon. 4) Are those root certificates or something mandatory, or password is enough to connect? Basically, i am asking is it possible to configure the computer so that i could silently connect to it wherever in the world it might be and silently monitor it? Also, i understand that a pe...

Sending WSMAN request to Web Browser

Hi, Our team has recently had to switch from using SOAP requests to WS-Man. And I'm a little stuck on getting it to work, so I'm hoping someone can shed some light.  Using OpenWSMan, I was able to invoke a RequestPowerStateChange, so I thought I could take the XML request and send it to the webservice to make it work the same way. Question about AMT password chang and Kerberos enablement

Greetings guys. Recently I've been composing a simple python based tool for remote WS management based on wsman and AMT. I'd like to firstly use digest as the authentication method. If so It's demanded that admin pw can be remotely changed. I know BIOS access or webUI can do this but both approaches are not applicable for bulk operation. Have u got a nice plan for pw bulk change? It'll be best if certain wsman schema could cover this request. On the other hand, however, Kerberos will be the best and it's the desirable choice for access authentication. So the last pledge from me is about the guidance of AMT Kerberos enabling and deployment. To summarize, Q1: how to change AMT password in bulk? (wsman cli preferred); Q2: how to enable kerberos on AMT?
Will AMT panic if touch too often

Hi, I am working on integrate AMT with OpenStack. Will validate the amt address and password several times during process. But there is a problem with BMC, it is too fragile and will panic if we touch it too often. So do we have a similar issue with AMT? Thanks Tan
