    Intel® IPT Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

    Intel® Identify Protection Technology (Intel® IPT) is meant to augment security features that allow for user identification and encryption by adding a hardware layer of protection. Intel® IPT with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) acts as a hardware security module, similar to a Smart Card. However, it is as easy to manage as software PKI deployments. Intel® IPT with protected transaction display further protects PKI certificates with a PIN code entry generated in Intel’s protected audio vision path (PAVP) using Intel’s integrated graphics. Display and entry of the PIN code is handled by secure hardware, making PIN theft very difficult.

    INTEL® HYPER-THREADING TECHNOLOGY

    Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel® HT Technology)1 uses processor resources more efficiently, enabling multiple threads to run on each core. Intel® HT Technology increases processor throughput, improving overall performance on threaded software. Intel HT Technology is available on Previous Generation Intel® Core™ processors, 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor family, and Intel® Xeon® processor family.

    TURBO BOOST

    Intel has optimized Intel® Turbo Boost Technology2 to provide even more performance when needed on 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ processor based systems. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 automatically allows processor cores to run faster than the base operating frequency if it's operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is activated when the Operating System (OS) requests the highest processor performance state (P0).

    The maximum frequency of Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is dependent on the number of active cores. The amount of time the processor spends in the Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 state depends on the workload and operating environment.

    Any of the following can set the upper limit of Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 on a given workload:

    • Number of active cores
    • Estimated current consumption
    • Estimated power consumption
    • Processor temperature

    When the processor is operating below these limits and the user's workload demands additional performance, the processor frequency will dynamically increase until the upper limit of frequency is reached. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 has multiple algorithms operating in parallel to manage current, power, and temperature to maximize performance and energy efficiency. Note: Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 allows the processor to operate at a power level that is higher than its rated upper power limit (TDP) for short durations to maximize performance.

How to get vPro / AMT e-mail alerts?

Hi! All these years I always hear how wonderful vPro / AMT is. Now as a small business customers I am looking for a simple way to receive e-mail alerts, e.g. as soon as a system fan of an vPro PC or AMT enabled server fails. So far I have not found any such program. Is their any such software available without having to spend a lot of money for some overkill enterprise monitoring solution? Thanks in advance. Anguel
AMT shared ip, no access

Hi all, I have several  AMT box's and one is prooving to be a pain,  I have configured a shared dedicated ip address, and can access that ip address via wsman across the lan, all settings *appear* to be the same as other working box's however this one just wont give me access to the webgui, nor vnc even then it is configured.   I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips as to what to check ? best regards Kev

Hello! I have downloaded IntelAMT9.5.0.30Gold SDK (I could download it only in IE, because of it's "resume" button - download was interrupted for about 4 times...), and right now i am trying to make the computer to go to sleep (with the new sleep API from sdk 9.x). It fail 100% of times, because: "Requested operation is not allowed in AMT system's current state." error. I tried it on many systems: haswell, ivy and sandy - all same result. The power state of my system was ON - S0. List of supported features from this power state is: soft off, powercycle, reset and NMI (i successfully sent a NMI). I tired it with my own implemented program and with the new "RemoteControl" sample project for amt sdk 9.0 as well, with same results. Please help me to figure out how to make sleep, gracefulShutdown, gracefulReset and Hibernate work. thank you!
Preloaded *3rd Party Data Storage* (3PDS) in my AMT device

In my AMT device I've found this preloaded 3PDS: venAltiris (appAltiris) venBMC (Marimba) venCA (Unicenter) venCheckPoint (Integrity) venIBM (appIBM) venLANDesk (Management Suite) venNovell (appNovell) venStarSoftComm (appStarSoftComm) venSymantec (SymantecApp) venTrendMicro (appTrendMicro) My motherboard is a Supermicro motherboard. I wonder why AMT in my MB is shipped with these preloaded 3PDS applications. Moreover I would like to know why: - After Full Unprovisioning, 3PDS applications are not deleted. - If is it safe to manually delete this applications (that I don't use) - If is it possible to backup 3PDS (and how)

"Remote Control" link disappeared in web interface after Unprovisioning

I have unprovisioned my AMT environment through OpenMDTK Director Tool. Now, entering as admin in web interface I don't have no more the "Remote Control" link in left menu. It's not a problem of permission because I have created a new user with specific permission for Remote Controlling but problem doesn't solve. I think I have to activate that menu in some way. Anyone know how?

Intel AMT, VNC and, TLS

I've recently implemented OOB in my office and I'm having difficulties getting VNC to connect to the clients.  When I try to connect to a client using VNC Viewer Plus I get the following error, "KVM tunnel TLS failure.  Check TLS configuration and certificates."  Everything else is working.  I can connect to the client from IE using HTTPS.  Powershell commands are also connecting to the client using TLS with no issues.  I've pretty much ran out of ideas on how to get this working.  Any help would be appriciated.
