Linker File for Intel (R) Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013 SP1 for Windows
By K V L.0
Actually, I wanted to test PROTRAX 7.1 software working with Intel (R) Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013(SP1 for Windows). So, I have installed successfully, 30 days evaluation version of Intel (R) Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013. The software is getting compiled, but I am unable to locate the linker file. I tried to search the linker file but its not found in the entire Intel program folder/respective directory. Is linker available with Intel (R) Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013(SP1 for Windows)? If available, then where is its path?
A super fast solution for the intersections of Bezier curves

Happy New Year of 2014 to Eyeryone, Last year I had presented my intersection points solution for Cubic Bezier curves at Now, I like to share the latest news of mine with everyone that I have solved the intersections problem of Quartic Bezier too. Also my solution is ready to be commercialized into an application now; I believe it may influence the future trend of Graphic and CAD design in both 2D and 3D very soon. If you are interested about my work, welcome to visit my site at Hope you enjoy my show! Hunt Chang
Question on SGX availability
By paradium0
Hello Intel I was wondering if Intel could provide just an approximate time frame on availability of the SGX extensions. Is it slated for the next generation of CPU's or is it further out than that? Or is it even (wishfully) available in the current generation and could be activated via microcode updates or similar (since I read they do have the Intel privacy ID feature which is related to the attestation mechanism used in SGX). Thank you in advance!

Is it possible to disable or not use the Last Level Cache in Intel IvyBridge CPU?
By Mike X.0
Hi, I want to do an experiment which test the performance degradation and effect on the scheduling when CPU has no shared Last Level Cache. I was able to "disable" all caches, i.e., not allowing the OS to use the caches.  However, I have to do some experiment when CPU only has the private L1 and L2 cache, and does not use the L3 shared cache.  So my question is: Is it possible to not use the L3 cache but use the L1 and L2 cache for the IvyBridge CPU?  I looked at the Intel Developer Manual. I cannot find any text which confirm if this is possible or not.  Could anyone help me? Thanks,

Working principle of Intel (R) Processor Diagnostic Tool
By Alexey B.0
Hi! My name is Alexey, I'm going to write a term paper on Error reaviling in processor functioning. Could you be so kind to consult me about Intel(R) Processor Diagnostic Tool. I took advantage of the proposed program to test CPU, but for the completion of this work I need to provide technical documentation and and function of software that was used.I would be very grateful, if you could help me in this matter. I was able to find almost all aspects of interest to me, except the principle of operation of the program. I know that Prime95 calculates Mersenne prime numbers and Linpaсk finds the solution of linear equations. I would be very grateful if you would have helped me find how Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool tests the processor.   Thanks, Alexey

how can solve fortran running error like '^K^@^@^@^A^@^@^@^@^@^@^@%^@^@^B'
By Alex Adams2
Hello profs,      I write a fortran script and compile it with intel fortran compiler. Then I run it and mostly it works so well. the functin of scripts is to read some strings from the files containing losts of lines.      but when it read one of the piles of files, error reported 'forrtl: severe (64): input conversion error, unit -5, file Internal Formatted Read'.      I checked the codes and find the issue attributed to the line ' read(string, '(f14.3)') xfloatn' (where, string set to character*16, xfloatn to real*8).      Also when I debugged the program again, I outputed the string into files and checked what happened.  I find the lines like the following:     ^K^@^@^@^A^@^@^@^@^@^@^@%^@^@^B   150382809.969 7  ^K^@^@^@^A^@^@^@^@^@^@^@%^@^@^B   150385056.018 7  ^K^@^@^@^A^@^@^@^@^@^@^@%^@^@^B     In the upper lines, only lines containing float number is valid, the other is not hoped. I never meet with this situation before. Can you help me out for this issue.     BTW, I run ...

problem with 4.4.2 image and HOST GPU setting
By Bradipao0
This post just to notify a small problem with 4.4.2 (api19) x86 image and the HOST GPU setting. The problem affects the whole emulator and not only apps. Basically when displaying something animated (or even when user swipes the home screen), suddenly the animation stops and the display seems stuck at frame when animation stopped. Animation does not continue any more and when it stops in the middle of a swipe animation, also swipe gesture does not work any more. You have to press menu button to unlock display (probably because display of something else is requested to the system). Also in-app small animation are affected, for example indeterminate progress bar in action bar makes a few round and stops. If I disable HOST GPU, everything works fine. But it is strange because I have no problem at all with 4.2 (api17) image and HOST GPU enabled. My machine is Win7 64bit with core i7 cpu, 6GB ram, integrated graphics. Tried with both HAXM 1.0.6 and 1.0.8. In can make screenshots of the s...

Trouble connecting Atom device via USB
By Aharon Robbins (Intel)1
Hi. I'm using Beacon Mountain for Windows on Windows 7 SP 1. I installed the Android USB driver for Windows version 1.1.5 which comes with it.  When I connect the cable Windows sees the connection and tries to install driver software but does not install the "Android" device and so I cannot push my app to the device to test it.  (Eclipse does not see the device.) I have tried removing the device driver, reinstalling it, rebooting in between, just about every combination of hoops that one normally jumps through with this, and nothing is working. For the work I'm doing I have to run on the Atom device I have; the emulator environment won't do. Suggestions, pointers, directions, etc. will be most welcome. Thanks, Aharon Robbins
