Pratool is a graduate student focusing on machine learning and deep learning. His current research includes methods of identifying and differentiating between mosquitos, by using deep-learning models and smartphone cameras.

University of California, San Diego

Aditya is a graduate student focusing on machine learning and AI. His hope is to develop models utilizing both machine learning and deep learning and using robotics to help reduce mundane and repetitive tasks in daily human life.

Antony is an undergraduate with a focus on mechatronic engineering. He wants to make autonomous systems using machine learning and artificial intelligence with IoT devices to solve third-world problems in Kenya, such as street congestion and food insecurities.

Dan is a graduate student focusing on machine learning and databases. His current research includes methods for combining generative and discriminative models, deep-learning optimization, and information extraction.

Dinesh is a graduate student at Illinois State University where he is focusing on machine learning, deep learning, and AI. His current research includes using convolutional neural networks to analyze how news headlines and sentiment analysis can impact stock prices and stock predictions.

Emmanuel is an undergraduate currently pursuing a degree in mechatronic engineering. He is an IoT enthusiast and is keen about how the breakthroughs in AI will assist in unlocking Africa's potential. Of particular interest to him is the adoption of AI in the education and healthcare sector.

Gilad is a graduate student with a focus on machine learning and AI. His goal is to push the boundary of semantic understanding in natural language processing (NLP) by building an AI that reads and understands behavior online and identifies various online behaviors, such as mental illnesses and harassment.

Mona is a graduate student focusing on machine learning, deep learning, and AI. Mona hopes to use machine learning, deep learning, and AI to enhance disease detection, particularly by leveraging deep learning models to identify markers for whooping cough.

Ngesa is an electrical and electronics engineering student. He is a community organizer, a maker, and an educator who is passionate about driving positive change in Africa. He wants to use artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning for agriculture issues and predictive maintenance in factories.

Panuwat is a graduate student focusing on brain connectivity analysis and natural language processing. His current research focuses on diagnosis and classification of neurological diseases, such as epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease, to create a real-world impact for those suffering from such diseases.

Ramy is a graduate student focusing on machine learning and speech recognition. His current research is focused on enabling individuals with speech impediments to use speech-to-text software to recognize and dictate their speech. The project consists of two main parts: deep bidirectional recurrent neural network with connectionist temporal classification implementation, and post-processing the output phonemes for speech assistance.

Sampath is a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University where his focus is on computer architecture and machine learning. He hopes to use machine learning and AI to solve medical problems like disease detection, identifying cures for epidemics, and offloading mundane human tasks to machines. He is also working on image classification and object detection.

Troi is a graduate student with a focus on machine learning and deep learning. He intends to use artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and deep learning to solve problems that arise when an artificial intelligence unmanned aerial system tries to search for, monitor, and treat mosquito breeding habitats autonomously.

Yeser is a graduate student at Université de Tlemcen, Algeria, where his focus is on machine learning and AI. His current research emphasizes leveraging machine learning to generate paths via a robot’s workspace, working to eliminate the shortcomings of mathematical models presented in singularity configurations relative in his case to the five degrees of freedom (DoF) structure of the robot manipulator.
