Using KMS and XRANDR

Using KMS and XRANDR

the following command works on my asus eeepc
on puppy linux lucid 5.2.8,
but does not work on puppy linux racy 5.3:

xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1024x600 --fb 1024x768 --panning 1024x768

this command enables a panning desktop on a small netbook 1024x600 display.
