moblin - or should we say meego?!

moblin - or should we say meego?! Today Nokia announced a rather bizarre partnership with Intel. Namely, the two companies are merging their odd, half-finished, Linux-based OSs into one crazy little package called... MeeGo. No, really. Intel is mixing its peanut butter Moblin with Nokia's chocolatey Maemo to create a "software platform that will support multiple hardware architectures across the broadest range of device segments, including pocketable mobile computers, netbooks, tablets, mediaphones, connected TVs and in-vehicle infotainment systems. --- so - what does this mean for moblin? // Aaron Ardiri Mobile 1UP

Hello Aaron,

in a short sentence it means that Moblin will disappear but you can run your current Moblin software with MeeGo.
So its a soft switch over for Moblin developers and in the future we will focus on the QT environment.

Intel® Atom™ Developer Program

This should mean double the opportunity for us ATOM developers :) Beta projects are always a work in progress, and this seems like a step in the right direction for the Linux platform.
