Bug in Atom Developer Website-- regarding reviews and download counts

Bug in Atom Developer Website-- regarding reviews and download counts

Hi... My company has various published apps in intel appup app-store. In app-up client, we can see reviews/customer comments for our apps. However, in web-based user interface-- it still says '0 reviews'; and also, the number of downloads seems much lower than actual downloads on intel appup appstore. This is definitely a bug- and I am attaching screenshots of the same. Regards, Nalin

Nalin,

The reviews seen here on the website are not linked to the reviews in the AppUp client. I believe there is a distinction made so that you can compare what fellow developers are rating your app versus actual customers via AppUp.

An alternate image upload site that works quite well is http://www.imageshack.us

Hi Brian,

How do I go about rating a fellow developers application? Would I need to download it from the store and then come to this site to rate it? Does this system not favor free apps and handicap paid apps for the developer challenge system?

Regards
Brett Spence

Brett,

For the rating to be counted in the AppUp client, you simply need to log into AppUp client, download the app and rate it. All applications are treated the same in terms of rating in the AppUp client as far as I have observed (I have published both free and paid apps).

Hi Brett,

I addition to Brian's reply, you will only be able to rate applications on the AppUp(SM) Client. You will only rate an application after you have downloaded it and used it. I would not assume there would be a scenario when somebody would rate an application without actually using it.

There are not feature on the developer forum to be able to rate an application. However if you are refering to the contest entries these are different http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/contest/all-entries .They are not the actual reviews that appear on the AppUp(SM) Client. These ones are basically developers that review the contest entries.

Also, JPGs not getting uploaded... will mail through website support page...

Brian,
What you are saying is inaccurate.

If ratings-- in appdeveloper.intel.com are for developers only-- then where do i click to see other developer's apps and rate or review them ?

Also, what would be a context where logically the use-case you are describing in your last comment would be useful ? There is a bug in website-- and intel needs to fix this.

Nalin

Here you can see other developers apps submitted to the contest. Logged in users can mark and review apps.

Nalin,

Please can you give us the link where you are seeing the reviews and think it is a bug?

Nalin,

"What you are saying is inaccurate."

Actually, what i said is correct.

Go to your dashboard (http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/dashboard/myapps) and compare the rating (stars) to your rating in the AppUp client. They can be different.

In what i described previously, you can also note that your feedback and rating in the contest submission area (http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/contest/all-entries) are also different.

Disjointed? Perhaps, but that is the current behavior.

Best of luck.

Hello Nalin and All,

Thank you all for your comments. We are checking into this.

I have a suggestion - to display number of reviews and downloads at the title bar of the application.

Additionaly it will be nice to see number of downloads from my last visit to the Dashboard (+5)

Great Idea Dimitry-- it will really help everyone if your suggestion is implemented.

Regards,

NS
