Zombie states and Visual Studio .NET 2002

Zombie states and Visual Studio .NET 2002

Hiya

I've been experimenting with the Intel compiler for a project I'm working on. I tried to load the project solution this morning and I got the message 'cannot access data for the desired file since it is in a zombie state' for one of the projects.

I can't find any relevant information about this message from either .NET help or the Intel support groups. Nothing I've tried has made the problem go away (re-adding the project as .vcproj and .icproj, cleaning the solution etc). The project in question loads on its own quite happily however.

Any ideas what it's complaining about, or how I might fix it?

Cheers,

For more complete information about compiler optimizations, see our Optimization Notice.

Please check the version of "C:Program FilesIntelCPPIDEVSNet2003IntelPkg.dll"; if it's less than 8.0.0.444, you just need to get the latest patch from Premier Support.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hiya

Thanks for your reply.

I don't have a VSNet2003 (I'm using VS .NET 2002), but I have version
8.0.429.2002 of IntelPkg.dll in c:Program FilesIntelCPPIDEVSNet2002.
I'm currently using the latest demo version of icc 8; I have the full version on
order.

To give a bit more detail, the solution contains four dlls and one executable.
The project that is in the zombie state is one of the dlls. There are a few
symbols that are exported from dlls to the main progream, I don't know if that
is relevant.

I'm very keen to find a solution as I have wasted most of the day trying to
track this problem down.

Cheers,
