Getting maximum compilation speed

Getting maximum compilation speed

I am trying to get maximum compilation speed out of the latest ICC version for LINUX (running on an Intel Pentium). However, the only option I found that seems to improve compilation speed considerably is "-O0". What I didn't find is an option to turn on precompiled headers. Does such a thing exist?

For more complete information about compiler optimizations, see our Optimization Notice.

Hi Felix,

For compiler version 7.1, there is no support for enabling the use of pch. This feature is likely to be enabled by compiler version 8.0.
You can post a feature request at the Intel's support site- , if you need this in version7.1.
