Optimal Intel Pro 1000 ET driver settings

Optimal Intel Pro 1000 ET driver settings

Hopefully someone has experience in the following application scenario and can help guide me to the best driver settings. I have a multithreaded trading application where multiple threads are listening on seperate multicast addresses and data is provided through a single wired connection. The received packet rate is very large and bursty, well over 5,000 packets per second. To the point where I end up dropping packet which causes the application to error out. The application is very sensative to latency and settings have been adjusted in an attemp to minimize this. The application is currently running on Windows 2003 SP2 but with no RSS currently in use. Can anyone tell me or know where I could find Intel recommended setting for the driver to maximum packet throughput and minimize latency.

Hello Mike,

You may want to contact an Intel Product Representative. Please see http://www.intel.com/buy/networking/design.htm under "Design Components".

If your location is not listed, please see an Intel Authorized Distributor and ask for a Field Application Engineer (FAE). Our Intel Authorized Distributor list is also linked from the URL above.

You can also try Intel Product Support at http://supportmail.intel.com/scripts-emf/welcome.aspx?id.

Thanks for your question. I hope this answer was helpful.
