Mac OSX coarray support

Mac OSX coarray support

Are there plans to support shared memory coarrays on Mac OS X? Is there a time line for this yet, or is it too far out to say?

Thanks,

It's not in current plans, but we've been discussing ways forward to enable this. The complication is that Intel MPI doesn't support OS X. While it is possible to use our coarray support with MPICH2-compatible MPI stacks, we don't provide any of the coarray infrastructure on OS X.

This is a long-winded way of saying we know customers want this, and we'd like to do it, but it's not going to happen soon.

I assume MAC can run a Virtual PC, the virtual PC could run Windows or Linux, COARRAYS "might" work in that context.

Steve, thanks for the response.

Jim, I’m planning on running Linux in a VM (virtual box) or, more likely, installing Ubuntu in parallel to OS X. Thanks for the suggestion.
