build linux kernel ERROR: modinfo: could not find module XXX

I build the linux kernel for using the PAPI perfctr. my system: CentOS release 6.4 (Final), 2.6.32-220.el6.x86_64.The attachment is my .config.

Get the source code from kernel.org->uncompress the tar->make mrproper->cp the .config from the current running kernel in /boot directory->make oldconfig->make ->make modules_install->make install. In the last step make install, I get error above. How can deal with it. I try to ignore these error and reboot, but I get the kernel panic.

Look forward to your answer. Thanks.

For more complete information about compiler optimizations, see our Optimization Notice.

Apart from the fact that the mic kernel module is one of the missing modules, I don't think your question has any relationship to this forum.

As far as the mic kernel module is concerned, you could try uninstalling the MPSS until you get your new kernel installed, then recompile the mic kernel module for your new kernel and reinstall the MPSS.

But, as far as a general answer, perhaps someone could suggest a better forum for this question.

Because the server is used by many people, I can't uninstall the MPSS. But I think your answer is a way to deal with it at least. Thanks.
