A license for CCompL is not available now (-96,7,2).

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if someone could shed any light on this issue that has just started appearing on my fedora core 11 build machine. I receive this error when i try to compile using the intel compiler. To the best of my knowledge everything is uptodate and everything was installed as described in the user guide.

Error: A license for CCompL is not available now (-96,7,2).

A connection to the license server could not be made. You should
make sure that your license daemon process is running: both an
lmgrd.intel process and an INTEL process should be running
if your license limits you to a specified number of licenses in use
at a time. Also, check to see if the wrong port@host or the wrong
license file is being used, or if the port or hostname in the license
file has changed.

License file(s) used were (in this order):
1. Trusted Storage
2. /opt/intel/Compiler/11.1/069/licenses
3. /opt/intel/licenses/l_JW76ZJCF.lic
4. /home/lwojcieszak/intel/licenses
5. /opt/intel/Compiler/11.1/069/Licenses
6. /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses
7. /opt/intel/Compiler/11.1/069/bin/ia32/*.lic

Hi ,
Supposed , if the message not corresponding reality
Verify if SELinux (ACL) always disabled or changed with an updated package if you have make ?
(Is default in fedora 12 (new install) ,and you must remove for install compiler)
(but message warn install given by utility is correct)
see also if battery mother card is not dead (an old date Firmeware)

Hi Laurent,

Have you installed Intel License Manager for this floating license?Intel FLEXlm* license servers are at http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/performance-tools-for-software-...

Intel License Manager are listed for you at the Intel Registration Center if you have registered a floating license. That's where you can find the license managers. Please read the compiler Installation Guide for further details.

Also, please check http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/getting-the-product-running-wit...

@Corey - I don't need to float this license - hence why i never installed the flex manager. As i said i followed all instructions to the letter and i am now baffled as to this error . .

@bustaf - I'll give it a go and fingers crossed it works! N.B I did disable SELinux during the install (Fedora Core 11) but i'll double check it all again to make sure its still disabled.

with my limited capacity expression no easy
SElinix can be not installed but just file config installed default parameter active.
you have one file relation parameter SElinux in repertory /etc and potential instruction (in boot file) call in file Boot sector Grub .
I think they two side, are verified by ICC (access side). in step install and always on process compile
for eventuality date limited accorded.

Best regards.

Please erase your lic number sensitive or indiscreet with (edit) for answer justified remark Jennifer.
The original SELinux config files was stored in /etc/sysconfig/selinux
For example..
# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
can take one of these three values:
# enforcing - SELinux security
policy is enforced.
# permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of
# disabled - No SELinux policy is loaded.
SELINUXTYPE= can take one of these two values:
# targeted - Only
targeted network daemons are protected.
# strict - Full SELinux
